Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how HourBridge Health LLC, a Delaware limited liability company (hereinafter known as "HourBridge Health," "we," "us," or "our"), collects, uses, shares, and protects information about you when you use our website and services. It applies to physicians and other healthcare professionals (clinicians) and to the hospitals, clinics, and healthcare organizations (facilities) we serve.
We are a locum tenens staffing agency, not a healthcare provider, so we are not covered by HIPAA and never access your patients' medical records. We collect the professional and contact information needed to match clinicians with facilities, we do not sell it for money, and you can access, correct, or delete it.
Who we are and what this policy covers
This policy describes how we collect, use, share, and protect information about you when you use the HourBridge Health website and the related forms, tools, and services we provide, including over the phone and by email (together, the site and services). By using the site or services, you consent to the practices described here. This policy covers privacy; your overall use of the site is also governed by our Terms & Conditions.
We are not a HIPAA-covered entity
HourBridge Health is a locum tenens staffing agency, not a healthcare provider. We are not a "covered entity" or "business associate" under HIPAA, and we do not access, request, or store your patients' medical records. The health-related information we handle is limited to what staffing requires, such as credentials, work history, immunization records used for credentialing, and assignment details.
Information we collect
Information you give us
We collect information you provide when you submit a CV, complete a form, request coverage, create a profile, contact us, or speak with our advisors, including:
- Identity and contact details: name, email, phone, mailing address, and emergency contacts.
- Professional information: CV, work history, specialties, education, references, license and certification status, NPI and DEA/CDS numbers, and malpractice history.
- Credentialing information: immunization records and other documents needed to credential you at a facility.
- Facility details: for facilities, the coverage needs, scheduling, and contacts you share.
- Preferences and account security: email, SMS, and phone preferences, and any login credentials.
Information from other sources
To verify and complete your profile, we may receive information about you from professional licensing boards, background-check and reference-check providers, credentialing services, the facilities you work with, job boards, and publicly available sources.
Information we collect automatically
When you use the site, we automatically collect technical and usage information (such as your IP address, device and browser type, pages viewed, links clicked, and approximate location by IP) using cookies and similar technologies.
Sensitive information
Some of the information above is "sensitive" under certain privacy laws. Examples include your Social Security number (used only for tax forms and background checks) and health data (such as immunization records used for credentialing). We collect and use sensitive information only for these permitted staffing purposes and as required or allowed by law.
Text messages and calls
If you give us your phone number, you consent to receive calls and text/SMS messages from us about our services (including assignment opportunities, credential reminders, scheduling, and, if you opt in, marketing), possibly using automated technology. Message and data rates may apply and frequency varies. Consent is not a condition of using our services. You can opt out of texts by replying STOP (reply HELP for help) and opt out of marketing emails using the unsubscribe link. We do not share mobile opt-in or consent information with third parties for their own marketing.
How we use your information
We use your information to provide and improve our staffing services; verify your credentials, licensure, and background; match clinicians with facilities; arrange credentialing, scheduling, and deployment; communicate with you; keep the site secure; and comply with our legal and regulatory obligations.
Automated processing
We use automated tools to help screen credentials and match clinicians with suitable opportunities. These tools support, but do not replace, human judgment: a person reviews significant decisions, and you may request human review, contest a decision, or ask us to explain it.
Data security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect your information, including encryption in transit and access controls. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security, and you provide information to us at your own risk. If you have an account, please keep your credentials confidential. We may notify you electronically about security or privacy matters.
Data retention
We keep your information for as long as we are providing services to you and for a reasonable period afterward, including to meet legal, tax, regulatory, and recordkeeping requirements. When information is no longer needed, we delete or de-identify it. You may request earlier deletion where the law allows.
International users and U.S. processing
We are based in the United States and process and store information here. If you access the site from outside the United States, you understand that your information will be transferred to and processed in the United States, which may have different data-protection laws than your location.
Your privacy rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or receive a portable copy of your personal information; to opt out of targeted advertising, the "sale" or "sharing" of your information, and certain automated profiling; and to limit the use of sensitive information. We will not discriminate against you for exercising these rights. Residents of states with comprehensive privacy laws (such as California, Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia, and others) may have additional rights, including the right to appeal a decision.
How to exercise your rights
To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the details below. We may need to verify your identity before acting on your request, and you may use an authorized agent where the law permits. We aim to respond within 45 days; if we need more time, we will let you know. If we decline your request, you may appeal by contacting us again.
Children's privacy
The site and services are intended for adults and are not directed to anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 18. If you believe a child has provided us information, please contact us and we will delete it.
Third-party websites
The site may link to websites we do not operate. We are not responsible for the privacy practices or content of those sites, and we encourage you to read their privacy policies.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Effective date" above and post the updated policy here, and we will provide additional notice if a change is material. Your continued use of the site after an update means you accept the revised policy.
